About ISACA
ISACA (previously the Information Systems Audit and Control Association) is a world wide association of IS governance professionals. The association currently focuses on assurance, security, and governance and provides globally recognised certification in assurance (Certified Information Systems Auditor), security (Certified Information Security Manager), and shortly to be offered, governance (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT).
The association is one of individual members, often the sole practitioner of information systems auditing, security, and/or governance in his or her company. The membership of the ISACA reflects a multiplicity of backgrounds and skills that make the information systems governance field challenging and dynamic.
At a typical chapter meeting, you will meet experts and novices, programmers and accountants, IT managers, security managers, technicians and statisticians, internal and external auditors, who work in the public and private sectors. They all share common interests that guide their careers, the establishment of information systems in a controlled and manageable environment; the development of techniques to assure management of the effectiveness and efficiency of systems practices and controls; realisation and management of a secure environment in which business can flourish.
