In 2008 the ISACA Wellington Chapter began development of set of guidelines for use by IT auditors and security professionals, as a practical interpretation of the requirements of the twelve principles set down in New Zealand's Privacy Act. The guidelines clarify what is 'reasonable in the circumstances' for New Zealand organisations to protect personal and private information, and meet the requirements of the Act.
