Cost
There is a charge of $15 for a member or $20 for a non member to attend one or both of the sessions. This includes the networking lunch.

ISACA Session (12:00 – 12.45)

Now in its 11th year, Ernst & Young's Global Information Security is responsible for identifying the current state of information security and offering recommendations for creating an improvement agenda for the future.
In the 2008 edition, approximately 1,500 worldwide organisations participated including 46 New Zealand organisations.  This presentation will discuss global international security trends and highlight opportunities and challenges unique to New Zealand organisations.

Vaughan Harrison is a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's Advisory Services practice and focuses on IT internal audit, information management and analytics, security assessments and IT effectiveness engagements.

IIANZ Lunchtime Session (1315 – 14.00)

“The Marshmallow Effect”

Much has been written by internal auditors and fraud examiners on ways to prevent and detect fraud.  Most focus on structured methodologies and benchmarking to ensure that organisations do as much as they can, within cost parameters, to reduce the risk of fraud occurring.  There are however many "soft" issues to fraud that are easily overlooked.  In the workshop session Barry will draw on his experience from investigating fraud in New Zealand - looking at the issue from the perspective of the fraudster rather than the auditor.  This will be an interactive session.

Barry Jordan, Partner, Forensics & Recovery, Deloitte
Barry has been leading forensic accounting and fraud investigation assignments in New Zealand and in the UK for over 15 years.  He has provided expert evidence in Court and to international arbitrations on numerous occasions, and has led many high profile complex fraud and asset recovery investigations in New Zealand. 

Barry is also an experienced insolvency practitioner acting as both liquidator and receiver of New Zealand companies.
