Agenda item 8: Amendment to Constitution
Since 2008 ISACA-Wellington has been running periodic education events in Christchurch in partnership with the Canterbury Branch of the IIA. This initiative recognised that South Island based ISACA-Wellington Chapter members are not always able to avail themselves of the benefits that derive from ISACA-Wellington activities and that maintaining CPE hours can be more challenging, due to factors such as distance and cost.
To provide better support for ISACA members and initiatives in the South Island, the Committee is proposing a new additional Committee position of Vice-President South Island. The primary role of the Vice-President South Island will be to continue to champion ISACA values and benefits and promote and expand ISACA activities in the South Island, under the auspices of the ISACA-Wellington Chapter.
The proposed wording changes are as follows. Should this motion be passed at the AGM nominations will be sought from the floor to elect a person to the new position.
Existing wording:
E. OFFICERS AND DUTIES
(1) Officers
The Officers of the Chapter shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
(2) Duties of the President
The President shall serve as chairperson of the Management Committee and shall, subject to the control of the Management Committee, have supervision, direction, and control of the business and affairs of the Chapter.
The President shall preside at all meetings of the membership and shall be ex-officio a member of all committees.
(3) Duties of the Vice President
In the absence of or disability of the President, the Vice President shall have all the powers and shall perform all the duties of the President.
..........
F. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
(1) Composition and Election
The Management Committee shall consist of the Officers of the Immediate Past President of this Chapter and six other members, all of whom shall be elected each year and shall serve until their successors have been elected. No Management Committee member shall serve more than two consecutive years in the same office.
A motion is put forward to update the above with the proposed new wording to allow the office of Vice President South Island to be established:
Proposed Wording:
