Dear Wellington Chapter member
At the end of February at our AGM we’ll be appointing members for the 2008 committee. There are a number of positions vacant and a few for which we already have nominations. If you’re in a position to do so, please consider stepping-up and giving us a hand.
There are some exciting projects to be progressed that will provide value to us all, but we are totally reliant on members’ volunteer effort to achieve these.

Key positions for which your chapter needs you are:-

E-Channels Editor – Responsible for eliciting material for publication, for editing and moderating the material and generally for keeping our web site alive and providing value to our members. Also for ensuring that prospective contributors know how to use the content managed web site.

Note that this is a key role with potential to develop our web site into valuable resource for use by our members and also as a global 'advertisement' for the work being done in NZ and Wellington. Its possible that later in the year the web site will be become an NZ one, supporting Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch chapters and sub-chapter.

Special projects – We are also keen to co-opt people onto the committee who are willing
to progress specific initiatives that have been agreed by the committee to be of sufficient priority and value. So if there’s something that you think we should be doing then please take this opportunity to put forward a suggestion.

Note that all committee positions are working roles where members are expected to attend monthly committee meetings, events, event organising meetings, and of course to progress the actions and initiatives required by the role itself.

Leadership roles can involve several hours per month of effort. We’ve found that employer support is often important, and that people who travel frequently typically aren’t able to provide the continuity that’s needed.

Having said that, much of the committee’s work is fulfilling, fun, and you’ll be working with a great bunch of people.

We have vacancies and the following nominations for the roles:-

Vice President – Peter Mulligan (Corrections) [Peter is leading the formation of a Christchurch sub-chapter]

Secretary – Robyn Campbell (PWC)

Treasurer – Atilua Bailey (KPMG)

Assurance Leader - Xiang Zhou (Deloitte)

Governance Leader - Peter Salmon (independent)

The following people will be continuing in
their roles for 2008:-

Events Manager – Alan Heward

Security Leader – Paul Blowers

CISA Coordinator – Lesa McKenzie

CISM Coordinator – Bernard O’Brien

Liaison Manager – Nitish Verma

E-Channels Coordinator – Andrew Stephen

President – Ron Segal

Past President – Alisdair McKenzie
To put your name forward for any of the vacant positions please contact Ron Segal (president@isaca-wellington.org.nz).
Note also that the committee is always open to your comments and suggestions.
